Outstanding Teacher Programme
We aim for every lesson to be excellent to ensure our pupils achieve the best possible outcomes. To enable us to achieve this, we invest in our teachers and have developed teaching and learning programmes shared throughout the region, in conjunction with OLEVI and University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD).
The programme inspires and motivates staff to try out new approaches and become reflective practitioners, giving them the opportunity to discuss and share good practice with colleagues within Cwmtawe and from other schools.
The programme builds on the key areas of the Teaching and Learning model in every learning experience. It covers a range of topic areas, looking at the theories for learning and pedagogical approaches whilst sharing a range of techniques and tips for the classroom including:
Growth mindset and feedback |
What type of teacher am I? |
Classroom climate |
Learning to Learn |
Memory and effective strategies |
Developing effective students |
SOLO Taxonomy in the curriculum |
Importance of Feedback and Feedforward |
Educating through engagement |
Deconstructing the writing process |
To date, we have trained and developed over 100 teachers from various schools across South West Wales. If you are interested and want to find out more about the OTP and ITP programmes, contact Mrs. M. Edwards at the school.
