In response to the Coronavirus crisis, we have had to re-model our provision to meet the current needs of our children, families and our staff.
All our staff are currently working on producing resources for our pupils to continue working at home. We are also available to support our families during this critical time with their children's education, or with any other issue.
As from Monday 4 May, all our subject areas will set work through Microsoft Teams. This is available to children through Hwb, the Welsh Government Digital Learning Platform. The features available in Microsoft Teams should more closely resemble the support and guidance children would normally receive in class, with the ability to ask questions and receive responses.
Our Year 11 pupils have been considering their next steps for many months. There is information available on the Careers and Post-16 page on how to access extra help if required. In addition, there is guidance signposted on any developments with GCSE examinations.
We would appreciate if you could complete our survey, which has been sent to parents/carers by text, to help us understand how home learning is affecting you as a family.
Childcare provision for key worker children is continuing at the NPT hub in Ystalyfera. Parents identified as key workers receive weekly text messages to register their children.
If you are a key worker and you need childcare, but you do not receive these texts, please email the school.
All UK Government guidance in relation to the impact of Coronavirus on education settings can be read on their official website. Some aspects may differ in Wales, so ensure you also check the Welsh Government website.
Welsh Government has also published a range of guidance specifically related to education.
We have cancelled all school activities and visits for the remainder of the academic year. Please see our letter for further information on individual visits.
